Registered Dietitian (Spanish-speaking), Part-Time

HRD Consulting / SmartEater is looking for a part-time, Spanish-speaking Registered Dietitian to serve an outpatient setting.

 

Dietitians provide individualized medical nutrition care and education to patients, with emphasis on diabetes, pre-diabetes, hyperlipidemia, hypertension, childhood obesity, and bariatric surgery. 

 

This position is both remote and in-person at the Alhambra, CA office location. We provide competitive wages and flexible work schedules.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

• Develops individualized nutrition care plans based on collection of diet history, nutritional assessment, current laboratory results and medical diagnosis of patients upon referral from their primary care provider.

• Provides culturally sensitive, on-going education and instruction to patients, families and support persons to achieve behavior change goals, which lead to better clinical outcomes. Special emphasis given on dietary treatment regimen, individualized exercise and weight management plans to improve health status and/or prevention of chronic illnesses and associated complications. Requires excellent counseling skills and the ability to relate to multi-ethnic communities and varied learning levels.

• Will counsel patients in an individual one-on-one setting. Is a team player and customer service. Able to build rapport with patients and staff and demonstrate good problem solving skills.

• Develops and maintains educational materials that are comprehensive and current in English and Spanish.

• Continues to expand and update knowledge in medical nutrition and improve counseling skills through continuing professional education opportunities.

• Proficient in computer applications: Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point and computer charting programs.

 

Job Requirements

 

• Registered Dietitian in good standing and credentialed by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.

• Experience in clinical outpatient setting preferred.

• Bilingual in English and Spanish required.

• Reliable transportation.

• Good oral and written communication skills.
